Elderly man shot twice in abdomen during robbery
The CPF called the emergency services after they noticed a man with his intestines spilling out.
A 52-year-old man is fighting for his life after he was allegedly attacked and shot in Pretoria West on Friday evening.
According to Xander Loubser, spokesperson Best Care Ambulance Services, said they received a call from members of the community policing forum (CPF) at around 19:00 on Friday.
“The CPF called the emergency services after they noticed a man with his intestines spilling out. They initially thought the man was stabbed.”
“As we covered the intestine with moist dressing, we saw the second wound that looked like a gunshot wound. I asked the man what had happened and he just said ‘gun shots’,” Loubser said.
According to Loubser a bystander confirmed that the man was attacked and shot twice shortly after he left a shop in Van der Hoff road. The attacker fled the scene after he shot the man.
“The CPF along with members of the Tshwane metro police escorted our ambulance to the Kalafong hospital where the man was immediately taken in for surgery.”
Hercules police spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.
