Artcile:
“My neighbour was already in bed when the burglars made their way into her home using a crowbar.”
Two women were injured in a house burglary in the east of Pretoria recently.
A neighbour, who asked not to be named, said armed men fled after hurting the two women on Sunday night a week ago.
She said this happened in the evening in Bush Street, Willow Park Manor.
“It was around 23:15 that the first alarm went off. When the third alarm went off I knew something was wrong.”
The woman said she heard a vehicle halt abruptly at her neighbour’s residence.
“My neighbour was already in bed when the burglars made their way into her home using a crowbar.”
The woman said her neighbour was hit in her face, her arm was broken and her knee was dislocated.
Another neighbour, an elderly woman, heard the alarm and went to investigate.
After knocking on a window several times with no response, the woman went around the house to find the front door open.
At that moment, the burglars ran out and pushed her to the ground.
“She was hit as she fell to the ground and injured her ankle. The perpetrators fled and we think their might have been three of them.”
ADT responded to the alarm.
The woman whose house had been broken into was taken to hospital shortly after.
Police were still to confirm the attack.
