Dylan Scholtz(he is deaf) have sent a letter to the Boksburg Advertiser in which he asking if anyone could help his family with clothes, groceries, and other necessities. He wrote in the letter that his father was the only breadwinner in the family is in bad financial standing since his assault in March.....
Charlene Paphitis(36), Dylan's mother, have on Thursday stated at Marula Media that the family is very grateful for the help that they have received. "Many people have contributed to alleviate our immediate needs in terms of food and clothing, and for this we are very grateful," she said.
Small angel Dylan Scholtz...
Paphitis told that her partner of 13 years and the father of her three children, Leon Scholtz (43) was assaulted in March outside of the nightclub by at least six black terrorists(aka men). He suffered severe brain damages and can no longer speak since the attack. Leon can't walk alone and can not use his right arm..he is struggling to focus when someone is talking to him.
"When we talk to him, he looks at us and nodded his head all the time for everything we say. So I'm not even sure if he recognizes any of us, "said an emotional Paphitis. "We do not know if he will ever improve, but we do know he urgently needs speech and physiotherapy...perhaps he even have a chance to improve."
Paphitis said Leon was always the sole breadwinner and therefore family has landed the in a dire financial straits after the assault. Apart from Dylan, the couple also has a three year old daughter, Abigail, and a two year old son, Nicholas. "I moved after the assault to my parents and hoped that there is someone who could help me. It would have been only temporary, but now already months passed bye and nothing. My car was sold while Leon was in the hospital and we are without any transportation, "she said.
"Leon is currently living with his parents because we do not have a place to accommodate him. He needs 24 hours and 7 days a week day care because there is nothing he can do for himself. "
Leon Scholtz...
She said that St. Vincent School for the Deaf in Rosebank's a hearing aid broke down and it will cost R2 600 to repair it...money that family does not have.
"Our most urgent need now is to repair Dylan's hearing aid. He is completely deaf without the equipment and he can not really operate with just one, "said Paphitis said.
"Leon is without desire to take voice and physiotherapies even that he has a chance of improvement. It breaks my heart so to see him. I want to stay positive and believe that he can improve with the right help. "
She added that the past few months were for the whole family very traumatic and it especially gets heavy for Dylan "Dylan must go for counseling because he suddenly gets angry outbursts. His behavior has changed a lot and he became aggressive. I think he struggled to deal with the situation. The children miss their father so much. It's just amazing how one's life in one moment can change radically. "

Die kinders mis hulle pa so baie.
